I know what you're thinking: "That abstract was pretty cool, Dan, but is there any way you could express the same ideas in a much longer and more detailed form, with lots of references to other papers and specific plans for your implementation? And while you're at it, could you include some sort of Gantt chart? Please phrase your response in the form of a design document."
So how did I know exactly what you were thinking? It is both a gift and a curse, and I would rather not talk about it now.
Regardless, my design document can be found below! (If the embedded version doesn't work you can also see it at http://www.defectivity.com/other/designdoc.pdf)
There are a lot of possibilities here, good luck! One thing I think would be cool would be to experiment with Unity's depth-of-field effect. A user could specify the f-stop. Then, if you have an event that occurs within the frame but at a different depth, you could focus on the new object. Or you could use it in establishing shots.
